Service accounts are accounts used for automated processes or shared accounts that don't have a specific owner, such as group email accounts. It is essential to ensure these accounts are marked as such within Vanta. Marking an account as a Service account will exclude it from email configuration checks, monitored accounts, application access reviews, onboarding tasks, and computer associations.
- From the People page select the three-dot menu of the desired account
- Select Set as a service account
- Enter a reason. Keep in mind marking this person as a service account means it will not be tracked as a person in Vanta. Tasks can’t be assigned to service accounts and they are not tracked in tests.
