If you have a background check service, such as Checkr or Certn linked in Vanta, completed background checks can be automatically linked to users in Vanta. The linking depends on the background check email matching the Vanta user's email.
If the email on the background check does not match any user's email in Vanta, the background check will not be automatically linked.
For example, if you initiate a background check for an employee using their personal email, but have their work email in Vanta, the background check will not be automatically linked and will need to be done manually. This is to ensure background checks are linked to the correct user.
To manually link any completed background checks (pending background checks cannot be linked), please navigate to the People page in Vanta, and select the user in question. If there are unlinked background checks from the background check service, you will see a linking icon next to the background check task. When you click on the linking icon, this will open a popup window where a Vanta admin may view unlinked background checks. Search for the employee's name, and click "link" next to the background check for that employee. This will manually link the background check to the user in Vanta.
