Integrating Vanta & Okta

Through the Vanta and Okta integration, you can create a connection to import your employees seamlessly into Vanta and also allow specific users to log in to Vanta through Okta single-sign-on. 

 

Add Vanta to your Okta Account

  • To connect successfully to Vanta, the user account that creates that API token needs to have Read-Only Administrator rights to view your Users information within Okta.
  • From the Admin Dashboard select Applications
  • Search for Vanta

  • Select Add Integration and complete the following prompts 

 

Connect Vanta & Okta

  • Open the Integrations page from the left-hand panel
  • Scroll to Identity Providers and select Connect

  • Select Connect and choose Okta
  • From here you will be prompted to provide an API Key. 
  • Add the API token you have generated, as well as the OKTA domain 
  • Select Validate & Store
  • If you would also like to enable SSO for specific users: 
    • Do not select connect 
  • Return to the Okta Admin Dashboard
  • Under Applications click on the Vanta application.
    • In the following screen, click on the Sign On tab and then Edit.

  • Find Advanced Sign-on Settings and paste the domain ID (Finding your Okta Domain) into the Domain ID field. 
  • Select Save
  • Select the Assignments tab and click Assign. From there, assign the Okta application to the proper users/groups that should be able to use SSO to log in to Vanta.
  • Return to Vanta and select Connect
