In my experience getting a readiness assessment done by an external auditor was very helpful.

I have also been on the other side of this question and given advice to others who were considering or in the process of prepping for their first audit. Speaking to someone else who has gone through one can be very helpful!

This is great advice. The first audit can feel overwhelming - chatting with someone who has gone through the drill before is a smart idea.

While speaking with one of the Vanta's CSM (Hey Taylor Buckler 👋 !), I was made aware of the extreme importance of getting the users commitment before initiating such a journey 🚀.

To be honest, I was way more focused on technical side. But, quickly, I started to understood the reason of this advice : things can quickly get stuck if you don't guarantee, first, the Leadership support and the Users commitment 😅 !

    Since then, I always have this advice in mind 💡 and it's a life-saviour 🦺 !
