To leverage this integration, Google Drive must first be connected through the integrations page within Vanta.
Please remember to allowlist Vanta in your Google Workspace domain
Prerequisites
In order to prevent unauthorized access to private files, Vanta will only sync Google Docs from the shared drive titled
Vanta policies(this drive name is case sensitive). Google Workspace admins must create this drive within Google for the connection to work successfully. For instructions on creating a shared drive, Please see Google's help article here
The person who connects the Google Drive integration must have Write permissions for the
Vanta policiesfolder within Google Drive. If permissions are modified after integration setup, this may result in sync errors. It is recommended to verify user access permissions regularly and make adjustments as needed.
Upload a new version from Google Drive
Open the Policies page from the left-hand navigation panel
Select the policy to update by clicking on it
Select Create New Version
Choose Sync a File, then select Create
If you have multiple Policy apps connected, select Google Drive from the dropdown. Filter by the file name if required, then select the document you would like to sync
Creating a Custom Policy by Syncing through Google Drive
