Adding an incident contact ensures Vanta knows exactly who to reach out to for highly-sensitive communications—helping the right people get notified quickly. This includes situations like breach notifications, critical security incidents, or other urgent events where specific individuals should be contacted directly.
Any user role or team can be selected as an incident contact. Users without login access won’t appear in the picker (like personnel-only records).
To add an incident contact:
In your account header, click the Settings icon.
From the page menu, select Login and security.
In the Security tab, scroll to Incident contacts.
Click the profile icon to assign one or more contacts.
💡 Tip: Select Notify all admins to email all users with the Admin role, in addition to the people selected.
