Risk Management customization empowers organizations like yours to manage risk in a way that is easy to understand, easy to update, and tailored to your specific needs. 

Customizing Risk Management

• From the left-hand navigation panel, select Risk Management
• Select Settings
• From here, you can manage preferences, custom categories, and custom scoring

Preferences 

• Choose what action you would like to be taken when a new risk is added to the risk library.
  • Always add recommended controls
  • Ask me every time if I want to add recommended controls
  • Never add recommended controls

Creating Custom Categories and Attributes 

• Custom Categories
  • Select Add
  • Enter the category name
  • Select Add Category

• Custom Attributes 
  • Select Add
  • Enter a label, description, and data type
  • Select Add 

Customizing Risk Scoring

Vanta defaults to scoring risk scenarios on Likelihood and Impact, each on a scale of 1-5. With Risk Management customization, you can now customize the name and description for each scoring option and the scale. 

• Select Edit
• Add the dimension name and description
• Choose the scoring scale; this can range from 1 - 20.
• From here, you can also add custom labels and descriptions 

Customizing Score Groups 

Vanta automatically groups risk scenarios into high (red), medium (yellow), or low (green) groups based on their risk score. When browsing the risk register, these ratings and colors provide an easy visual cue to better understand risk. Ratings are also incorporated into a risk distribution heat map that summarizes the entire risk register in a single visual. With Risk Management customization, you can edit both the number of groupings and the bounds for each group.

• Choose the color, label, and description to meet the needs of your organization
• Select Save setting
