Purchase cyber insurance within Vanta

  • From the Purchase cyber insurance banner, select Purchase
  • Complete the cyber insurance questionnaire flow and answer each of the questions (don’t worry about exiting the flow, your answers will be saved).

  • Once you’ve answered all the questions, review your answers and select Submit application
  • Wait for your quote to be generated (this can take a few minutes).
    • If your quote requires human review, see this section. A Vouch underwriter will reach out to you by email. Once they provide your quote, you’ll be able to view it here and continue with the steps below.
  • Once your quote is generated, select your coverage. Vouch offers two packages to Vanta customers:
    • Compliance: This package includes only cyber and errors & omissions insurance, which are the basics needed to meet common compliance requirements.
    • Complete: This package includes additional coverages that go beyond what is strictly required for compliance but is nevertheless common for startups to purchase.

  • You can optionally customize your package and select the exact coverages you want to purchase (when in doubt, we recommend just purchasing the Compliance package).
  • Pay for your insurance using a credit card or ACH.
  • Once you finish purchasing insurance, you’ll receive an email from Vouch with your insurance document to sign.
  • After you sign the insurance document, your insurance will be processed by Vouch and will appear on your cyber insurance document within the next few minutes. Once the insurance is fetched by Vanta, the document will automatically start passing and your COI will be linked to that page (this is the evidence your auditor will want to see for compliance). You can also view the details of your coverage.
  • If you’d like, you can sign into your Vouch account to view your insurance and make changes.

Human review

In some cases, a Vouch underwriter may need to review your application to help determine the best coverage for your business. When this happens, the purchase flow in Vanta will be paused and a Vouch underwriter will contact you to collect additional information. In this scenario, it can take a few business days to receive your quote. Once you receive your quote you’ll be able to go back to the Vouch purchase flow in Vanta and continue your purchase (see steps #7 and above).
