Configuring CSPM Alerts

If you leverage a CSPM (Cloud security posture management) tool, the integration with Vanta will allow you to monitor alerts from posture management tools and track resolution within set windows.

CSPM Alerts

  • From the Asset tab in the left-hand navigation panel, select CSPM alerts 
    • Keep in mind that to utilize this page, you must be integrated with a CSPM in Vanta.

  • From here, you can see a list of items requiring remediation, their severity, status, and due date.

Creating CSPM Alert Remediation SLAs

  • The SLAs you set forward on the settings page will guide due dates for alerts. To create or edit SLAs (service-level agreements)
  • When CSPM alerts are detected within your infrastructure, it is essential to ensure they are triaged and remediated on time. This allows you to prioritize possible threats and prevent environmental harm or loss.
    • Please note: If you previously set your SLAs for CSPM alerts, any changes made here will update your CSPM alert settings across Vanta. Changes will be applied to new CSPM alerts and will not affect any historical or currently open CSPM alerts.
  • Vanta will provide remediation time recommendations based on the level of criticality.

  • This page will also allow you to disable the SLA and view its history, including when it was last edited and by whom. 

Managing CSPM Alerts 

  • Alerts are managed from the CSPM alerts page
  • From the open tab, all available alerts will provide additional details when clicked on

  • From the modal on the left-hand side of your screen, you can view information about the alerts, view remediation instructions, and view the select asset(s).
  • If you Deactivate the monitoring of these alerts, Vanta will no longer track the remediation.
    • You can deactivae indefinitely, or until a specified date
