Managing your payments

From the Billing page, you can pay invoices, update your billing information, and manage your payment methods. You can access the Billing page from your account settings.

Paying your invoice

If you have any unpaid invoices, they'll appear at the top of the Billing page. Open the invoice to review and complete payment. After you submit, the invoice briefly shows a processing state before updating to paid.

From the Invoice history section, you can open past invoices to view and download them.

ℹ️ Note: If your invoice still shows unpaid after submitting payment, refresh the page and allow a few minutes for it to update. ACH payments can take several business days to process. You can monitor payment status through your banking portal.

Editing your billing information

From the Billing information section, you can update your billing contact email, organization name, and address. Changes to your billing address apply to new invoices going forward—open and past invoices won't be updated.

Adding a payment method

From the Payment methods section, you can add or remove payment methods and set a default payment method. Existing payment methods can't be edited—remove the old one and add a new one instead.

Vanta supports major credit cards and debit cards. To pay by ACH or wire, use the remittance details found on your invoice PDF and include the invoice number when making payment.

Troubleshooting

Billing via MSP or marketplace

If your account is managed through a Managed Service Provider (MSP), reseller, or marketplace like AWS, manage your billing through your partner or marketplace portal. You may see a message on the Billing page directing you to contact your billing partner.

Sales tax

For customers in the United States, Vanta is required to charge and collect sales tax in jurisdictions where our products are taxable and where Vanta has a physical presence or has met certain economic thresholds. These taxes vary by jurisdiction and may include sales, excise, or privilege taxes. If Vanta hasn't met the thresholds in your jurisdiction, no sales tax will be charged, though this may change as laws change or Vanta meets additional requirements.

Sales tax on your invoice is calculated based on the taxability of your purchased products, the billing address you provided, and the applicable tax rate in your jurisdiction. All sales tax collected is remitted directly to the relevant jurisdiction—Vanta retains none of it.

Certain businesses, such as non-profit organizations and educational institutions, may qualify for tax exemptions. If your company has an exemption certificate, contact our billing team and provide a copy so we can produce an updated invoice.

Value-added tax (VAT)

Vanta is not currently registered for VAT. Your invoice is not inclusive of VAT. Customers subject to local VAT rules may be responsible for self-accounting under applicable reverse charge rules. If you have a VAT ID to submit, contact our billing team.
