How to Initiate an Access Review for Tools not Integrated with Vanta

✅ Feature availability: This article discusses Access Management, which may require an upgrade or add-on. Refer to Vanta Plans and Pricing for details.

Access reviews are critical to maintaining security and compliance within an organization. They ensure that only authorized users have access to specific tools and data. However, there may be instances where a tool you need to review does not have a native integration with Vanta and, therefore, cannot have access information pulled into Vanta automatically.

Verify Vendor Addition

  • Check Vendor Status: Ensure the tool you want to review is added as a vendor in Vanta. Go to the Vendors section and verify if the tool is listed.

  • If the tool is not listed, add it as a Managed Vendor.

  • This will ensure the vendor is available as an application to use in access reviews.

Import Access Data

  • Initiate the access review by selecting Create from the Reviews tab on the Access page

  • From here, you can create an ad-hoc review, or create a schedule

  • Select the applications from the list.

  • Select Create draft review

  • Applications that are not integrated into Vanta will require access to data—this can be provided to Vanta by selecting Upload file

  • From here you can upload a screenshot of user accounts, or prepare and upload your own access file

  • Once the access data is uploaded into Vanta, you can proceed with the access review
