Vanta allows users to subscribe to individual Tests and Documents to receive timely notifications about activity that may require attention.

Manage Subscribers

The Manage Subscribers feature enables admins or test/document owners to manually add additional recipients to receive notifications related to a specific Test or Document.

This is helpful for:

  • Including stakeholders outside of the primary owner

  • Keeping backup owners or internal auditors in the loop

  • Monitoring high-priority Tests or Documents more closely

Notifications

Subscribers receive standard notification emails similar to those sent to the Test or Document owner. These emails will include:

  • A clear subject line based on the notification type (e.g., “Test failed” or “Document due soon”)

  • A link to the Test or Document in question

  • A disclaimer at the bottom indicating that the recipient is receiving this email because they are a subscriber and not the primary owner

Please note: Only emails with your company's domain can be added as subscribers.

Managing Subscriptions to Tests

  • From the Tests page, select the test you would like to add subscribers to

  • Select the three-dot menu from the top right-hand corner

  • Choose Manage subscribers

  • You can add an individual’s email address, a team’s mailing list, or the
mailing address of a Slack channel (Slack notifications must be integrated)

  • Select Add

  • Emails can be removed from the subscribers' list by selecting the trash can icon from the Manage Subscribers modal.
