Interface settings let you manage your color scheme and sidebar behavior preferences. All users can access them from their individual account settings.
⚙️ User permissions: All Vanta user roles can manage their own interface settings.
Navigating to interface settings
Interface settings only affect your own account experience—they don't apply across users in a workspace.
To go to your interface settings:
In your account header, click Settings.
In the page menu, scroll down to My Account.
Select Interface.
Color scheme
The color scheme setting controls the appearance of Vanta when you're logged in:
Light (default): Displays Vanta with a light background.
Dark: Displays Vanta with a dark background.
The color scheme setting is per browser and device—so you can be logged into the same Vanta account on two different browsers or devices and have different color schemes on each.
💡 Tip: You can also change the color scheme setting from your profile menu.
Sidebar behavior
This setting controls how the expandable sections in the product navigation sidebar behave when you open them:
Toggle turned on: Only one sidebar section can be expanded at a time. Opening a new section automatically collapses the previous one, keeping the sidebar compact.
Toggle turned off: Multiple sidebar sections can be open at the same time. Sections stay open until you manually collapse them.
