You are now able to add, sort, search, and edit Vanta Opportunities within your MSP Console. When a deal closes, you can easily convert them into a live account.
Note:
- Registered opportunities stay open for seven days until qualified by a Channel Manager. If a Channel Manager does not qualify the opportunity with you within that seven days, the opportunity will automatically be closed.
- Once qualified by a Channel Manager, the opportunity will stay open for 90 days or an otherwise-agreed close date.
- They are classified as opportunities until they are converted to active, paying accounts.
- You will need to be an Admin within your MSP Console to Register Opportunities
How to Register your Opportunities
- Log into your MSP Console (app.vanta.com or app.eu.vanta.com if you’re EMEA-based)
- Click the “Opportunities” tab underneath the “Customers” tab in the left navigation.
- Click “Register Opportunity” either on the top right (in purple) or the middle of the page.
- Fill out information about the opportunity. Ensure that the domain name, company name and customer point of contact are accurate as you will not be able to update once the opportunity is created.
- Click “Add.”
- Your registered opportunity will show up in the “Open” tab once created.
Note: You cannot edit the domain name, company name or customer’s point of contact once the opportunity is created. If you need to edit this information, please close the existing opportunity and create a new opportunity with the correct information.
How to View & Take Action from the Opportunities Tab
Search, Filter, Edit, “Win/Lost” or view “Closed” opportunities:
Find opportunities
- You can quickly find relevant opportunities using the Search box or the Filters.
Update opportunity details
- You can update the company size, products and expected close date on an existing opportunity by clicking on the “...” next to the opportunity. If you need to update the domain name, company name and/or company point of contact, please close the opportunity and re-register.
Convert or Close Loss opportunities
- When you’re ready to convert an opportunity to an active, paying account, click on the “Closed Won” button (green check mark). This will take you to the “Customers” page where you can confirm the customer details and create the account. See “How to use the MSP Console“ for more details on how to create customer accounts.
- If your prospect is not ready to move forward, you can mark the opportunity as Closed Lost. Click the “Closed Lost” button (red cross mark) and provide a loss reason.
- Once closed the opportunities will move to the “Closed” tab and send an email confirmation.
Vanta will send all admins an email notification when opportunities are converted or closed lost.
Opportunities are Active for 90 Days
Once you register an opportunity, it will be active for 90 days. A banner will be displayed at the top of the “Opportunities” page if there are opportunities approaching the 90-day expiration date. If the 90-day window expires without converting the opportunity into a customer, it will be marked as Closed Lost and moved to the “Closed” tab automatically.
Vanta will send all admins an email notification when the opportunity has reached its 90 day window and has been marked as “Closed Lost”. If you need to request an extension, please reach out to your Channel Manager directly or email msp@vanta.com
