FAQ: What antivirus solutions does Vanta detect?

      • Before MacOS 12.3, we can detect XProtect as long as System Integrity Protection and ConfigDataInstall is enabled(Settings > Software Update > Advanced > Install System data files and security updates)
  • Kandji EDR (note, EDR must be enabled to "protect" mode)

Please note: Apps installed from the Microsoft Store will not be detected by Vanta. The best way around this limitation will be to install the app directly from the provider's website.

 

Linux Antivirus

  • Currently, we are not able to detect Antivirus programs for Linux.

 

Additional Information

    • Vanta will detect any antivirus solutions that show up in the Windows security center
    • Windows Security is built-in to Windows 10 and 11 and includes an antivirus program called Microsoft Defender Antivirus. See this Windows article for information on enabling: Stay protected with Windows Security
