Rebranding Your Company in Vanta

Use this guide to update your company information in Vanta after a name, domain, or branding change. Follow only the sections that apply to your situation.

đź’ˇ Tip: If you use Workspaces, repeat every step in each workspace separately. The only exception is updating emails in your identity provider, which Vanta syncs into each workspace automatically.

Company name and branding

  • Go to the Settings page and click Information.

  • Update your company name, display name, legal name, or logo as needed.

  • Your logo updates across Vanta, such as Policies and Trust Center, but not in the employee onboarding page.

⚠️ Note: To change your Vanta instance domain (the /c/<domain>/ part of your URL), please contact us. Any previously shared links using the old domain may stop working after the change.

Policies

  • Go to the Policies page, click More, then click Bulk Update Policies.

  • Use the bulk update tool to find and replace your old name or domain across all policies at once. This applies to Policy Editor policies only.

  • Draft policies update in place. Approved policies get a new draft—the approved version stays active until you approve the new draft.

  • Policies in Pending Approval can't be edited directly. Cancel the approval request on that policy to move it back to Draft, then run the bulk update.

  • If you have Policy Builder policies, the bulk update tool doesn't apply. Edit those manually, section by section, inside Policy Builder. You can also convert a Policy Builder policy to Policy Editor first (via the menu inside Policy Builder), then use the bulk update tool—note that conversion is irreversible.

  • If you have PDF-uploaded policies, download the file, edit it externally, and re-upload it as a new version.

Trust Center

  • Your display name and logo are controlled from the Settings page under Information—changes there reflect in your Trust Center automatically.

  • If you changed your email domain, go to the Settings page, click Customer Trust, and review your blocked and allowed domains.

  • Check that any email addresses set up to receive Trust Center notifications are still current.

  • If you have a custom domain, go to the Trust Center settings page, set up your new domain, and create and verify the required DNS records (TXT and CNAME). Allow around 10 minutes for propagation. If SSL gets stuck in Pending, this is usually caused by CAA DNS records on your root domain—see the troubleshooting article for the specific records to add.

  • If you use the Knowledge Base, upload new versions of any documents that reference your old company name via Customer Trust, then the Knowledge Base.

  • If you use Questionnaire Automation, review your answer library for any saved answers that reference your old name or domain and update them manually.

People and email domain

  • If you sync your personnel from an identity provider, update their email addresses there. Vanta syncs automatically—allow up to 12–24 hours for changes to appear.

  • If you moved to a new IdP tenant, reconnect the integration in Vanta so your users sync correctly.

  • If you added users manually, go to the People page and click Edit details to update them individually. This requires an Admin role.

Document evidence

  • Vanta does not automatically update manually uploaded evidence documents when your company information changes.

  • Go to the Documents page to identify any uploaded documents that reference your old name or domain, and re-upload new versions manually.

  • Evidence collected automatically through integrations updates on the next sync and doesn't need manual action.

Billing contact

  • Go to the Settings page and click Billing to update the billing contact name, email, or address.

  • To update your payment method, click Add Payment Method on the same page.

Vanta contract and domain

  • Reach out to your Account Manager or contact support for help changing the name of your company in Vanta’s systems, contracts, or your Vanta instance domain.

  • To change the name on your contract, a contract amendment will likely need to be signed.
