What's the difference between a policy's effective date and the version history date?

  • Updated
  • The effective date would be the date that you are going to start enforcing the policy. We suggest making the effective date the same for all of your policies once you've completed them. They will be effective for 1 year, so it will make it easier when you renew as all policies will have the same effective date.
  • Version history date is any time the policy was updated by your organization. You can see a timeline of each version listed in the policy, if applicable
